Rehab Aide

The Rehab Aide supports the daily operation of the rehabilitation department by assisting with patient flow, maintaining a clean and organized treatment environment, stocking supplies, and completing assigned clinic-closing responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Patient and Clinic Support

• Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist with patient flow and escort patients to treatment areas as directed.
• Support a positive, respectful, and customer-focused clinic environment.
• Work collaboratively with therapists and other rehabilitation staff.

Clinic Readiness and Closing

• Clean and sanitize treatment tables, therapy equipment, treatment rooms, and other patient-contact surfaces in accordance with department procedures and infection prevention standards.
• Organize treatment areas, gym space, and storage areas, and return equipment to designated locations.
• Stock therapy supplies, clinic materials, and laundry; monitor expiration dates and report low, expired, or damaged supplies.
• Complete the daily closing checklist and prepare the clinic for the next business day.
• Assist with securing the department at closing as assigned.

Compliance and Professional Conduct

• Follow hospital and departmental policies, including requirements related to safety, security, infection prevention, hazardous materials, and regulatory compliance.
• Protect patient and workforce information in accordance with HIPAA, hospital policy, and applicable confidentiality requirements.
• Complete all required hospital and department-specific training.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to communicate and interact professionally with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete assigned duties independently.
