Rehab Technician

Responsibilities:

• Will assist in the preparation of patient’s treatment and handle the clerical tasks for the department.
• The technician will transport patients to and from the Rehabilitation department as needed.
• Performs tasks outlined by the Director, Therapists, or Assistants.
• Schedules and reschedules patient treatments and evaluations.
• Instructs and assists new employees, coworkers, agency staff with paperwork, billing, procedures, etc.
• Completes assigned performance improvement duties and special projects.
• Assists therapy staff with patient treatments on an as needed basis.
• Completes equipment cleaning and maintenance and keeps logs up to date.
• Monitor’s temperature of modalities and keeps log up to date.
• Maintains all modality mediums at standard level of product.
• Correctly maintains client files and records.
• Correct and timely input patient charges.
• Communicates with doctors, therapists, and payer sources as needed.
• Verifies insurance for therapy coverage accurately and timely as needed.
• Appropriately documents authorization information such as call representative’s name, call reference number, exclusions, and limitations.
• Tracks insurance authorizations and helps to manage insurance paperwork.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Prefer C.N.A. or M.A. certification or other education in a rehabilitation related field of study.
• Prefer previous clerical and/or rehab aide experience.
• 1+ years of experience in a clerical or administrative role.
